Much warmer sunny day.
I went to PT this morning. I told
her I was now able to climb stairs without having to grip the handrail and
without stopping. If I did my exercise routine right before bed, I slept
through the night. She marked off the exercises I should continue to do several
times a day. She said if I had the pain or discomfort return, call her and she
will start up visits again. Sounds good to me.
Today is Veterans Day. It originally
started out as Armistice Day to mark the signing on 18 November 1918 to mark the
end of WWI. In 1971 it moved due to the Uniform Monday Holiday Act. After an
outcry from Veterans and others. The argument for the change was that the
signing to end the war was so important, it had to be on the exact day…much like
Independence Day and Christmas. In 1975, it returned to always be on 11 Nov
unless that day was on the weekend, then it would be either Friday (for a
Saturday the 11th or Monday for Sunday the 11th ) Also,
the holiday this year was on Friday for Federal Employees and others who choose
to observe the holiday.
