My Free Rambling Thoughts
31 days with no precipitation in Flagstaff…too long for my likes. While I don’t like a whole lot of snow all at once, a little moisture every few days sure would be nice. Another small brush fire within the city limits happened yesterday.

Another polar vortex for the eastern US. That means lots of cold for them. This is the 2nd vortex of the year, and I haven’t heard of that term before this year. However, a little checking and found that the term was first described in 1853 and it was ‘’discovered” in the US in 1952. It sure is cold and miserable for lots in the US while we enjoy a very mild winter.

Christie is being given a pass on the bridge thing, because he didn’t know and he has so many people working for him, he can’t know what everyone is doing. President Obama is blamed for the website mess and he has many more people working for him. Strange politics coming from the conservatives.

Remembering TV’s great shows:
"I Love Lucy"
No 'splaining necessary. We've loved zany Lucy, hotheaded Ricky and the loyal Mertzes for as long as we can remember. Whether in the candy factory, stomping grapes or cavorting with Harpo Marx, Lucille Ball showed generations of funny ladies and gents how it's done.

Auction Prices
Some guy's name. A law-school dropout saddled with debt auctioned away his name on eBay, allowing the winning bidder to legally rename him for two years. The bidding started at $75,000. "If you want my first name to be ‘Bob’s Supermarket’ and my last name to be ‘.com’ I’m cool with that," Jason Madsen wrote on his eBay entry.
OK Then…

Unusual Fact of the Day
The Gideons, who went on to place millions of Bibles in hotels, prisons, hospitals and military bases, first did so at the Superior Hotel in Iron Mountain, Montana, in 1908.
Joke-of-the-day
Four best friends met at the hospital since their wives were giving births to their babies. The nurse comes up to the first man and says, "Congratulations, you got twins." The man said "How strange, I'm the manager of Minnesota Twins." After awhile the nurse comes up to the second man and says, "Congratulations, you got triplets." Man was like "Hmmm, strange I worked as a director for the "3 musketeers." Finally, the nurse comes up to the third man and says
"Congratulations, you got twins x2." Man is happy and says, "Ironic, I work for the hotel "4 Seasons." All three of them are happy until they see their last buddy jumping all over the place, cursing God and banging his head on the wall.
They asked him what's wrong and he answered, "What's wrong? I work for 7up"!

RECUPERATING
For every day you spend in the hospital, plan on one week to recuperate.
Yeah, It Really Happened
A 37-year-old Santa Cruz, California woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a man wearing only boxer shorts was spotted clinging to her SUV's roof rack.
Completely understandable.
Several people called police to report the man. He was standing on the running board of a silver Toyota Highlander with his hands on its roof rack, witnesses said.
Officers caught up with the woman, Sonja Helena Landis, at the Skypark dog park. Apparently she and the man knew each other. Landis, who was in the dog park, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
While bizarre, all of this makes a certain kind of sense. What does not make sense is that the man in his underwear, clinging to the exterior of a vehicle cruising down the road, was NOT arrested. You would think, if anybody was under the influence of alcohol it would be the naked guy hanging onto a car.
Of course, he wasn't operating the vehicle, so I guess it was legal.
Somewhat Useless Information
  • During the World War II and Nazis’ plan to eradicate all Jews from Europe, Danes saved almost all of the Danish Jews. In 1943 around 7, 500 Danish Jews were about to be deported to German concentration camps. Danish citizens spontaneously decided that this would not going to happen and started planning their fellow citizens’ rescue risking their own lives. Almost all of the country’s Jews could finally escape the clutches of the Nazis and find refuge in neutral Sweden.
  • The pupil is a hole located in the center of the iris of the eye that allows light to enter the retina. But do you know under what conditions does it expand? Well, it is said that the pupils of our eyes dilate and grow larger when we see someone we’re attracted to. Do you agree?
  • “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair”, is an idiom of popular culture as the famous German fairy tale ”Rapunzel” by the Brothers Grimm was parodied. But how long is Rapunzel’s hair? So, how long is Rapunzel’ s hair so that the prince can climb and ask her to marry him? The answer is 70 ft long!
  • Rapunzel and the prince plan a means of escape, wherein he will come each night and bring her silk, which Rapunzel will gradually weave into a ladder.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify.
