Today’s Quote
Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude.
Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness.
Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.

My Rambling Thoughts
A change linens, wash, dry, and fold the dirty ones. Pulled out one of my star quilts for the bed.
Getting ready for winter.
Street names are usually given for a reason. My friend, Bob E., spent
part of his career with Jefferson County and his job was to name the streets in
a new development. I don’t remember the names but remember that he had a good system
of alphabetical names of foliage in one area. Downtown Flagstaff doesn’t have
such a simple system. One of the main streets is named after an early scientist
who visited the area. The guy also got one of our peaks named after him. He did
have some weird ideas about non-Whites, deciding that white people were at the
top of the intelligence scale and all other colors were below. So, being 2020,
the city council decided it was time to rename the street. So it is so long ‘N Agassiz St’
and the new name will be determined soon. Probably a good idea, but it will
take decades to update all the maps and GPS services.
I was in shop class when I heard that JFK had been shot. I was in
Algebra I when they announced he died and everyone was sent home.
I usually have Thanksgiving with a group of friends where each of us
brings a dish filled with our favorites…mine is blueberry pie and a fancy fresh
green bean thingy. Not this year. I’m still deciding if I will fix a turkey breast
with some trimmings. It is so weird this year.
