Free Rambling Thoughts:
Started off as a nice day…then clouded up in the late afternoon. We had our weekly lunch today. We were going to go to Outback, but discovered that it didn’t open until 4pm—even though the paper had a coupon for a noon lunch special. Ended up across the street at Cracker Barrel. Good homey food and some great conversation. Cheryl is getting ready for Thanksgiving in CA, Mary will be in Phx. This year Thanksgiving sure is early. I’ve noticed that a few stores have said no Christmas decorations until Black Friday…good for them. None of these stores have outlets in Flagstaff. Here is Flag, the decorations come out a week or so before Halloween.

World hassles never seem to end…bombing in Gaza…scary. On the more humorous side, Patraeus’ mistress’ harassing e-mailer is asking for diplomatic protection from the press that has camped out in her neighborhood. Finally today the government pulled the mistress’ ‘all access’ pass to military bases.

Joke-of-the-day:
A 17 year-old Antartican boy was hired to paint a white line down the middle of the highway. On the first day, he got off to a good start and he painted a white line 7 miles long. The next day, however, he painted a line only 4 miles long. On the third day, he was down to less than a mile. Finally, his friend Max asked him why he was doing less each day. The boy replied, "I guess it takes me longer and longer to get back to the bucket each day."

The Marlboro man, a Brazilian immigrant who asked for his name not to be printed, said he visits the Wellesley dump about twice a week to search for magazines to turn into art, and during a visit last month he found a book with $20,000 to $30,000 pressed between its pages, WHDH-TV, Boston, Mass., reported Tuesday. The man said he is trying to find the rightful owner of the cash and has pledged to search for six months before deciding whether to keep the money.
"This book is a lot of history there," he said. "My point of view is, I want to see because if someone maybe who separated the money to buy a house, put a down payment for the house. What if that happened to me, if it was me? I'm going to go crazy, alright?"

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
