My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Warm and sunny…very nice. Breeze is helping.

There are two ways to ‘get across town’ here. The fastest is I-40. The other way is through downtown with almost as many stoplights as street corners. I wanted to do some shopping across town. I-40 is repaving the entire 6 miles to get across town and only has one lane in each direction. This a main drag for big rigs 24/7. I took the downtown route. It took a little longer than I wanted but I’m sure it was still faster than I-40. Got what I needed and headed home.

The administration is saying there are 3 types of Americans in Afghanistan: those wanting to leave; those wanting to stay; those we don’t even know are there. There are also 3 types of Afghans: Cat 1 and Cat 2 refugees and vulnerable Afghans. The military is trying to get those out who want to get out. So far, they have brought out 110,600 Afghans and most of the Americans. The mission probably won’t be complete by the Aug 31 self-imposed deadline.

The AZ AG told Maricopa County to turn over all requested information to the ninja audit or be ready to lose $700million in funding…that is 1/3 of the county funding. Insanity reigns in AZ.

Insanity seems to reign in other places too. The FDA has issued its second, stronger warning for humans not to use any bovine de-wormer to treat or prevent COVID. This was necessary after Fox News and other right-wing outlets have said it works and told people where to get it.
