Thoughts for the day

Another nice spring day.

The 7.7 earthquake in Myanmar that was also destroyed buildings in Thailand and China. The devastation is horrific.

When I moved to Tuba, I bought a couch and loveseat about 1975. When I moved back to Tuba in the late 90’s I bought a new couch and loveseat. This morning, I started looking for a new couch and a couple of side chairs. It’s about time. I went to Designs West and saw some nice ones, but their prices were crazy. The cheapest couch was $2500 and the cheapest side chair was $400. Also, they didn’t go together. I’ll keep looking.

I watched Nightline all week. Even though I DVR’d it so I could watch it a more reasonable time, I found it was not to my liking. It was too much about celebrities and very little about the news. Times change and so do tastes.

The famous Sundance Film Festival is moving to Boulder, CO in 2027. That should be a good move.

JD Vance and his wife traveled to Greenland, sort of. The team setting up the visit couldn’t find any Greenlander who would meet with them. No business would let them visit for filming. They decided to fly to the US Space Force compound, almost 1000 miles from the capital. After eating a meal with the military personnel and giving a short speech, the reboard the plane and flew into the wild blue yonder. Sorry but this was not a visit to Greenland. It was an expensive visit to a military base.
