My Rambling Thoughts

Nice Saturday. A tad windy, but still great day for a long walk. Late night with Netflix, so I'm being a little lazy today.

I have a cousin on my grandfather's side who lives in Montana. She called this morning. She has moved from Whitehall, where she has been for decades, to be closer to her daughter in Belgrade, Montana. She sold her house and moved into a smaller apartment there. Her daughter is only a few blocks away. Patti just turned 91, is still independent, plays golf several times a week and goes to a Sunday night dance every week. The pandemic has stopped the dance classes and the only way to play golf is to walk the entire course so even though the weather is good, she can't golf. She became the Matriarch of that side of the family when my mother passed. Her life has never been easy being raised by a single mom, marrying young and starting a family. Her husband was not a great guy but they raised two kids. After her husband passed in a car accident about 20 years ago, she was able to be free and on her own. She continues to take advantage of that.
