Tidbits
After originating in Harlem jazz clubs in the
1930s, the zoot suit style had become popular with young men in black and
Latino communities in Los Angeles. Many conservative citizens objected to the
young zoot-suiters who called themselves "pachucos," associating them
not only with cultural rebellion but also with criminality and gangsterism.
These negative views only
increased during World War II, when the rationing of wool in early 1942 led the
manufacturing of zoot suits to be banned and the wearing of them to be seen as
unpatriotic.

Wind
blowing in has lowered our temps by about 10 degrees. Really nice if you enjoy
wind. Only upstairs windows upstairs are partially opened. Enjoying the cooler
temps, not enjoying the wind.
Trump
campaign has delayed bus tour, out of an abundance of caution. He will still
visit places and meet with friendly state administrations.
Gov.
Cuomo says if you travel to a hot spot state, you will not be eligible for sick
leave and must quarantine 14 days when you return to NY.
AZ
is in serious discussions about moving to ‘crisis care’ model in hot spots in
the state. That means patients will be evaluated on expected survival before
being placed in Covid ICU. This is very scary.
