Thoughts for the day

The nearby controlled burn has my area very smoky. Not a day to be outside.

Dear President Trump: the only state that can grow coffee beans in Hawaii. They supply 1% of the US coffee consumption. Your unfounded tariffs will raise the price of coffee in the US greatly.

When PA Gov Shapiro’s house was set afire is when I leaned that there are no punishments on the Federal books for Domestic Terrorism.

Sec of Defense Hegseth ordered 400 books removed from the Naval Academy for DEI. This included Maya Angelo’s I know why the caged bird sings. Allowed to remain on the shelves include Mein Kampf and The Bell Curve.

Yesterday there were at least 5 fires along I-40 near the casino and about 20 miles east of Flagstaff. The fire dept had to fill 3 tender tankers at the casino to put out the fires. How did the fires start?…they believe it was a loose chain hitting the pavement from a vehicle. Fortunately, all the fires were less than an acre and no structures were damaged.

Ancient Civilizations Few Have Heard Of…

The Olmecs: Mesoamerica, Mexico©Koffermejia on Wikimedia

Called the "Mother Culture" of Mesoamerica, the Olmecs created monumental stone heads, some weighing over 40 tons! They were also early pioneers of writing and calendars. Their advanced art and innovations had a lasting impact on future civilizations like the Maya and Aztecs.

Random Thoughts…

·   A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

·   J.P. Morgan of JPMorgan and Chase Co. Banking and Milton Hershey of Hershey’s Chocolate were both in Europe and planned to travel back to the US on Titanic’s Maiden Voyage but made other plans.

·   A group of Donkeys is called a Drove or Pace or Herd.

·   Little Richard – Real Name: Richard Wayne Pennyman

·   The reason grass makes you itch is because it actually cuts your skin with its serrated edges.

Taught in High School but not true…

There are only three states of matter ©Photo Credit: historiasperiodicas/Shutterstock

We were all taught about the most common forms of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. But did you know there are four more? Plasma, Bose-Einstein condensate, quark-gluon plasma, and degenerate matter are lesser known but just as important. The most important thing to know is that cats are liquid (for those reading, this is a joke; don’t liquify your cat).
