A phrase we don’t hear very often in Flag: Is it still raining? So
nice to have a couple of hours of light rain here in town. More good news is
that the evacuated businesses and residents of Oak Creek Canyon were allowed to
return today…after being evacuated about 10 days. More good news—no structures
were lost. The bad news is that it will take decades for this area to recover.
More bad news is what will be happening when the monsoons arrive. This is an
area of steep canyons that have now lost most of their ability to slow down any
run off. Flooding is in the future for all those residents and businesses. So
sad that this was all human caused.
I had a good lunch and conversation with Cheryl today. She had a
very good time in CA at her oldest grandkids graduation. She also got to spend
a lot of time with her two youngest ones.

imagine if the whole crew was staying in different places and the junior people
were grabbing a park bench to sleep on, or couch surfing in their uniforms?
Yes, the airline pays for hotels and arranges transportation to and from the
hotel. Otherwise, every flight would be late while we figured out where so and
so was staying.

a. If they are
counting the bricks, put them in the Accounting Department.
b. If they are
recounting them, put them in Auditing.
c. If they have
messed up the whole place with the bricks, put them in Engineering.

e. If they are
throwing the bricks at each other, put them in Operations.

CEBU CITY, Philippines (UPI) - A zoo in the Philippines has
started offering visitors the chance to receive a relaxing 15-minute massage
from its four Burmese pythons that it currently has in captivity. The Cebu City
Zoo's pythons - Michelle, Walter, EJ and Daniel – are supposedly fed 10 or more
chickens before giving out the massages so they won't be tempted to snack on
the guests. During the "therapeutic and calming" massages, zookeepers
keep watch as the snakes slither back and forth across a bamboo bed. Once the
snakes are put on, it's virtually impossible to escape because they weigh about
550 pounds combined. "I had to lie on my back on a bamboo daybed in the
open air. I was briefed on what to do and what not to do during the
massage," volunteer Ian Maclean told the Daily Mail. "These
instructions are crucial, as you can imagine. They tell you not to blow air on
the snake, because this is like being pinched on the bum, apparently. You can't
shout for help as the snake can feel your vibrations and thinks you're prey or
a predator, depending on the environment."
