Thoughts for the day

I’m hoping that the clouds bring us some monsoon rain.

Last night there was wildfire on Mt. Elden, just a few miles from my place. It was contained to about 4 acres, thanks to many first responders. Fires continue on the North and South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  These fires are only partially contained. AZ needs moisture NOW!

Our country needs highly qualified reliable government officials to run this country. I just don’t see that with the current cabinet.

Famous Quotes That People Have Always Misinterpreted

"The simplest explanation is the best" – William of Ockham

This quote is often misused as a way to support debates, especially when they’re linked to science or philosophy. The original quote comes from Occam’s Razor and goes, “No more things should be presumed to exist than are absolutely necessary, i.e., the fewer assumptions an explanation of a phenomenon depends on, the better explanation.”

Literary Legends…

William Faulkner Source: Wikimedia Commons.

William Faulkner’s complex narratives and experimental style brought new dimensions to Southern literature. His groundbreaking works, such as The Sound and the Fury, are known for their psychological depth and innovative narrative techniques. Faulkner’s exploration of family, time, and memory continues to challenge and inspire readers and writers alike. His literary legacy also extends into film adaptations, solidifying his impact on American storytelling.

Random Thoughts…

The Tower of London is wider than it is high.

When I was in elementary school, we would bring pop songs to class to translate the lyrics together with our teacher. With today’s pop lyrics, that would be very awkward.

There is only one country between North Korea and Norway. #russia
