Thoughts for the day

Blue sky. Storm is late. Maybe tomorrow.

I had a zoom call with my financial advisor. He is looking for investments that have growth, liquidity, and a fairly conservative.

Trump got a lot of press for his claim that Obama was foreign-born with no evidence, now his go to man was born in South Africa. I’m sure it is simply a coincidence that one was Black and the other is White.

A reminder to Senators: Every nominee you approve will follow your standing with voters forever.

Forgotten American Heros…

Hiram Rhodes Revels

Hiram Rhodes Revels broke racial barriers by becoming the first African American U.S. Senator in 1870. Representing Mississippi during the Reconstruction era, Revels was a strong advocate for racial equality and educational opportunities.

His election marked a significant milestone in American history, symbolizing hope for progress during a time of great national change.

Revels' tenure in the Senate was brief but impactful, as he worked tirelessly to promote civil rights and reconciliation. His legacy continues to inspire generations fighting for equality and justice.

Mayan Culture of Mexico and beyond…

Their priests were messengers of the gods.

Priests were an integral part of Mayan culture and daily life. In fact, everyday people believed priests to be the messengers through whom the gods spoke.

Religious ceremonies were highly common. The only person who had more power than the priest was the king, who was believed to be appointed by the gods himself.
