Today’s Quote

Our shared values define us more than our
  differences. And acknowledging those shared
values can see us through our challenges today
if we have the wisdom to trust in them again.

My Rambling Thoughts
I got a call yesterday from a friend who had a broken-down vehicle about 8 miles from my place. Two trips to the wrecking yard and another two trips to an auto parts store and the vehicle was up and running. My mechanical knowledge of vehicles is where to put in the gas and how to drive to the dealership. Fortunately, I was only needed for my driving ability.  It took most of the morning but was worth the experience.
Just as I was getting ready to write this post our little mountain community was hit with a loud thunderstorm. It lasted about 2-1/2 hours and when it was finally finished, I was too lazy to sit at the computer.

The passing of John McCain is a great loss for AZ, and the rest of the nation. While I seldom agreed with his politics, he was a man of integrity, a statesman, and a war hero. After 45’s disgraceful comment about war heroes not captured, 45 will not be invited to attend the service. In my opinion, 45’s bland tweet about McCain’s passing, showed me that even after death, 45 holds a grudge. So not Presidential. THIS IS NOT NORMAL.

Over the past two weeks our neighborhood has had no less than 4 new families move in. All were greeted by a HOA rep telling them to have someone posted at the vehicle while it is unloaded to avoid being towed. Really?!? Welcome to the neighborhood.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
