A Little Something to Think About
If a horsehair mat is made from the hair of horses, from what is a
mohair coat made?
If we get seasick on the sea, airsick in the air and carsick in a car,
they why don’t we get homesick in our home?

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Another day of snow showers but nothing is sticking. Good moisture for
our forest.
I’m a couple of days late, but rotated my mattress, put on a new Sonic
toothbrush, washed the mattress pad, got out a spring bedspread…now, even though
it is snowing, I am ready for spring.
I headed out during a break in the snow showers and got my weekly
groceries. Parking lot was full but made it in and out with little hassle.
Using a list makes it a whole lot easier.
I’m sure happy that I don’t work at the Suez Canal. That huge ship is
reminding the world of the importance of the Canal. A huge ship is blocking all
traffic in both directions. It doesn’t seem there is an easy fix, and as it is
in the third day, there doesn’t seem to be a hard fix either. People from 9 years
old to 80 years old are offering suggestions through proper channels or on social
media. Some are very funny while others might actually help. Europe, more than
N. America will suffer from the lack of goods at this time. If it goes on a few
weeks, everyone will suffer.
One local elementary school has placed students in one classroom on 2-week
quarantine after ‘someone’ tested positive for COVID. They are saying if it was
a child or adult. Hmmm
Our all-seeing, all-knowing Governor has dropped the statewide mandate
and declared that local municipalities can not overturn his edict. The Flagstaff
City Council is in a ‘emergency-closed session’ today to determine a course of
action. Lots of complaints about why it is a closed session. In addition, it
appears that privately owned businesses can continue to require masks. If your
business is renting space, the business can’t require masks unless the owner of
the property requires mask. That is just crazy.

Puzzle Answer
Check boxes 2, 3, and 4 in
order until you find him. Here’s why: He’s either in an odd or even numbered
box. If he’s in an even box (box 2 or 4) and you check box 2 and he’s there,
great; if not you know he was in box 4, which means the next night he will move
to box 3 or 5. The next morning, check box 3; if he’s not there that means he
was in box 5 and so the next night he’ll be in box 4, and you’ve got him. If he
was in an odd numbered box to begin with (1, 3, or 5), though, you might not
find him in that first round of checking boxes 2, 3 and 4. But if this is the
case, you know that on the fourth night he’ll have to be in an even-numbered
box (because he switches every night: odd, even, odd, even), so then you can
start the process again as described above. This means if you check boxes 2, 3,
and 4 in that order, you will find him within two rounds (one round of 2, 3, 4;
followed by another round of 2, 3, 4).
