My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
The
storm has arrived. There is about 3” on the way to 10” +. Should move out
tomorrow.
I
had a Dr. appointment this morning. All is well, but I do need a follow-up procedure
as there is a small blood clot in my urinary tract. He said there was no rush,
but will schedule it soon. When I was about 20 years old, I had a cystoscopy
and after the procedure, I got up to leave and passed out cold. I was a nervous
about today, but no pain and I didn’t pass out, so all is good.
I
know that you have to hear something a number of times before you believe it.
However; the White House keeps saying that the ‘objects’ that were shot down
were not extra-terrestrial. After hearing it over and over for two days now, I
am beginning to think they know a whole lot more than they are telling us. It
still sounds like the beginning of a sci-fi movie.
Another
mass shooting…this time at Michigan State University. I also saw data that the
US has 120 civilian guns for every 100 Americans. That puts us as #1. The next 4
countries are Falkland Islands at 62.1, Yemen at 52.89, New Caledonia at 42.5,
and Serbia at 39.1. Why do American civilians need so many guns?

Uluru, the
World’s Largest Monolith, Extends for Over 1.5 Miles Underground
The most
sacred site in Aboriginal culture is the huge red sandstone monolith known as
Uluru (or Ayers Rock). This landmark — the largest monolith in the world — is
emblematic of the Australian Outback and rises 1,142 feet above its desolate
desert surroundings. But what’s perhaps more impressive is that it’s estimated
to extend for more than 1.5 miles beneath the Earth’s surface, almost like an
iceberg on land. The Anangu people are the traditional owners of this
500-billion-year-old rock, and consider it to be a resting place of ancient
spirits.
Slang
Origins
1993: Talk to the hand
Meaning: Don’t talk to me
Accompanied by its distinctive hand
gesture, “talk to the hand” was a catchphrase often delivered by comedian
Martin Lawrence on his self-titled TV series, and he is sometimes credited with
coining the phrase. The 1997 movie “The Beautician and the Beast" also
used the catchphrase, adding the gesture, which launched it into wider use.

A Nikola Tesla statue in Palo Alto
provides free Wi-Fi
In the city of Palo Alto in California,
United States of America, there is a statue of Nikola Tesla that gives off free
WiFi. Palo Alto contains a lot of public art, but perhaps none are more true to
their inspiration than Tesla’s sculpture. Tesla was a true genius who wanted to
create and give free electricity and light to everyone in the world. He refused
to patent his inventions in the fear that if he died others would not be able
to copy him, which allowed Thomas Edison to steal and patent many of them.
