Random Tidbits

Romans were highly superstitious and feared anything to do with the left, which is why their words for "left" and "left-handed"; sinister and sinstra, gave us the modern meaning of "sinister."

The first-ever shopping mall was built by the Emperor Trajan in Rome. It consisted of several levels and more than 150 outlets that sold everything ranging from food and spices to clothes.

"Blorft’ is an adjective I just made up that means completely overwhelmed but proceeding as if everything is fine and reacting to the stress with the torpor of a possum. I have been Blorft every day for the past seven years.

My Rambling Thoughts

Not excited about the wind today. It’s a Red Flag Day. Pine needles loading up my deck. Pollen covering my vehicle. And the weather guy sez to expect the same tomorrow. While out watering Andy’s planters, I had to try and keep the water in the pots as the wind was blowing it away of the planters. Crazy,

Good move…sort of…Trump has moved his Tulsa rally to June 20 for his Black supporters. He is still holding a rally with lots of people in a confined area. And the NFL makes June 19th a company holiday to honor the final freeing of slaves in the south.

I have 2 friends living in Tucson. One is a HS classmate who is about 5miles from the fire. The other is a TC colleague who is about 15miles from the fire. Smoky for both. Scary for my classmate. Her area might be moving to the ‘set’ stage if the wind keeps up. I lived through that last year here in Flag.
