Thoughts for the day

Another hot day. Just finished watering at Andy’s place. He called and they had a great time on their Alaskan Cruise and are now in Phoenix. They will be back in Flag tomorrow.

Flagstaff had a huge No King protest. There were over 3000 at city hall and at least 2 blocks on both sides of Route 66. Very impressive and no cops to be seen.

I watched part of the Trump/Army parade. The songs and soldiers at most parades have me become very patriotic. This parade didn’t do that. It made me sad.

Fairbanks Alaska has issued its first Heat Advisory in its history. High will be around 85. Most buildings do not have air conditioning.

Historic Figures who never existed…

John Henry©jpmueller99 from Shenandoah Valley of VA, USA on Wikimedia

Of the many American folk heroes you'd wish for to be true, the legendary John Henry might spring to mind. According to the fable, he was a railroad worker who challenged a steam-powered rock drill to a race and won—only for his heart to collapse from exhaustion shortly after. His story inspired numerous songs, tales, and plays, even though he was likely nothing more than a fictional character.

Random Thoughts…

Montgomery Clift – Real Name: Edward Montgomery

People say that playing violent video games will turn you into a violent person. I’ve been playing sports videogames for some time and I’m still not an athletic person.

Bambi, Fantasia, and Pinocchio bombed at the box office.

When we want another person’s thoughts, we say “penny for your thoughts.” When we offer up our own, we say “putting my two cents in.” We value our own opinion twice as much.
