My
Rambling Thoughts
Nice day here in Flag. Dr. finally called back and gave me an
increased dose of meds + pain pills. I will get through this eventually.
I had lunch with one of my old bosses today. He is working on his
doctorate on how to get Navajo kids to learn to read, write and speak Navajo. Fascinating
research. One of the dissertations he was talking about was a Navajo lady as
she interviewed people for her research. Turns out that close relatives and
friends would be interviewed easily, but distant relatives or strangers
expected compensation, it’s a Navajo thing…if you are going to share your
knowledge you have to be compensated because knowledge is not free. It should
be noted that money is not the preferred compensation, but jewelry, turquoise,
or sheep is expected. She went back to her committee and the committee had a
hard time accepting that she would be ‘paying’ for information. She convinced
them, taught them some cultural stuff, and used her own way of compensating the
interviewees. Fascinating.

Between 1696 and 1760, six ensembles of reducciones (settlements
of Christianized Indians) inspired by the ‘ideal cities’ of the 16th-century
philosophers were founded by the Jesuits in a style that married Catholic
architecture with local traditions. The six that remain – San Francisco Javier,
Concepción, Santa Ana, San Miguel, San Rafael and San José – make up a living
heritage on the former territory of the Chiquitos.
Joke-of-the-day
Three old couples
were having tea one fine day. There were all chatting and whatnot when one of
the men, trying to get a chuckle, said to his wife, "Pass the honey,
honey!” Getting the chuckle he expected, he carried on. A moment later, the
second man said, "Pass the sugar, sugar!" This got a bit of a bigger
laugh, so the third man, although not quite as clever or quick-witted as the
other two, decided to join in the fun. He waited for the perfect opportunity,
cleared his throat and then confidently said, "Pass the tea, bag!"
Yeah, It
Really Happened
We've all been there. You and your buddy are looking for kicks on
a week night so you go to the Internet for some "professional" help.
Because nothing breaks up the boredom of a Tuesday night than $75 hookers.
But then everything goes to hell when you all get up to your room and you find out that one of the "girls" has a penis.
The whole sordid affair came to light when the driver of a red Mustang in Midlothian, IL flagged a police car down. When police approached the car, they observed two nude women - one with an eye swollen shut - and a naked transgender woman. The three told police that a man inside a room at a local fantasy motel had struck one woman after it was discovered the third woman was transgender.
Police instructed the three to get dressed, and they then returned to the hotel room to discuss the incident with the two men involved. One of the men, who described himself as a club promoter, said he and his friend contacted the three others on the Internet and agreed to pay them each $75 to all have sex together. The five people involved met up at a club in Markham before relocating to the Midlothian club.
One man said he was lying in bed with one woman when the other two people and his friend decided to hop in the Jacuzzi. That’s when his friend realized the third woman was transgender.
The man in the hot tub said he tried to leave, but the woman began to hit him because she was angry she wasn’t going to get paid, according to the police report. That man told police he fled to his car and locked his doors.
The women denied they were prostitutes and told police they all met at the club and agreed to go to the hotel to have sex together without payment. The other woman told police the second man attacked her associate without being provoked.
Police released all five without charges due to their conflicting stories.

Somewhat
Useless Information
Debate.org,
the free online community, where people debate online and read the opinions of
others, has hosted many controversial debate topics, among them if Australia
really exists!
In
this debate 26% of people said “YES”, which means that Australia really exists
and 74% voted for “NO”.
People
based their thoughts over Australia’s existence on the argument “seeing is
believing”. Consequently, people who haven’t been or haven’t seen Australia
claim that it does not exist!
“I’ve
simply never seen any evidence proving the existence of Australia”, “Yes
Kangaroos do exist. I have seen, touched, and fed them at the petting zoo”, and
“I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who has seen Australia. Map makers could be
in some conspiracy to create a mystical land “down under” to fool us all!”, are
some of the claims.

1. Jack is not the murderer, because he is the brother of the
murderer. 2. Dan can't be the murderer since he ran a marathon, and the
murderer recently had his leg amputated, and wouldn't be running a marathon of
any magnitude that quickly. 3. Ben is not the murderer if he just met Jack,
since Jack and the murderer grew up together. 4. This leaves Jeff and Mike.
Since Jeff is still alive (he wants to install a new computer next week,
present tense) he must be the murderer. Mike also didn't grow up with Jack. It
has been determined that Jack, Dan and Jeff are all alive. Ben must also be
alive since Jeff plans to install Ben's computer next week. This means that
Jeff killed Mike.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at
least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and
sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is
therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian
calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
