My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A cold night and a chilly day. Looking forward to the warmth of Yucatan.

The Salvation Army is seeing donations down. Partly due to Covid, partly from inflation, but mostly from something they put on their website…about racism. Along with an extensive discussion of systemic and structural racism, the document included a conversation guide highlighting “the necessity of lament and repentance in the believer’s journey towards racial equity and racial reconciliation.”  Many felt this was Critical Race Theory and complained. Hmmm

On Wednesday the CEO of Southwest and other Airline CEO’s testified to a Senate Committee about masking on airplanes.  The headline from that hearing was that several CEO’s felt that cabins on airplanes were safe and that masks may not need to be required. On Thursday the Southwest CEO tested positive for Covid. That is very embarrassing.

Here is my suggestion: Everyone wears a mask around non-family members until this ends. Everyone get vaccinated. Stop the minute-by-minute updates on Cable News. Those of us that have a working brain know what to do, those who don’t want to mask up will not have their mind changed by anything they hear. Get vaccinated, wear a mask, and move on with the rest of your life.
