Thoughts for the day
It is still smoky from the various fires. I have a FB friend who is a
Navajo who works with preserving Native areas. He is also a firefighter. He was
at the North Rim and helped turn the pack mules loose as the fire got very nearby.
All mules did what mules do and safely evacuated the area and are now all safe.
Yesterday I went to the car wash about 11am. About 2:30 the monsoon
returned and dirtied my vehicle. It’s all good as I have a monthly pass for car
washes and we certainly need the moisture.

"Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" – Henry
Morton Stanley
This has become a famous greeting that was
presumed to originally have been said by the journalist and explorer Henry
Morton Stanley when he found Dr. Livingstone in Tanzania. However, it’s
something that has never been verified. It shows how easy it is for narratives
to change to suit storytelling.
