day, but many of us don't understand exactly what it is. The term was first
used in a monetary sense to describe "an increase in the amount of
money" in 1838. Today, economists argue over the exact definition of
inflation but generally agree that it means a continued rise in prices while
the value of money declines.

Origins
The Dutch were the first Europeans to reach Connecticut
in 1614. But there were already Native Americans in what would become the
Nutmeg State. The name "Connecticut" is derived from the Algonquian
word "quinnehtukqut" that means "beside the long tidal
river."
Delaware, the
first state to ratify the Constitution, owes its name to explorer Samuel
Argall, who named the Delaware River and Bay for Virginia Gov. Thomas West,
Lord De La Warr. The state takes its name from the river and bay.

Rambling Thoughts
A nice Monday. I walked early and it was spectacular.
Joking or not, Mount Rushmore is a Federal monument, not a state
one. The Feds would have to approve any changes. Asking the governor is simply
ignorance…or another distraction.
I have been wondering where I can get accurate, unbiased
information regarding the upcoming election. The 24/7 news channels (CNN,
MSNBC, Fox…) all have a bias in the news they report. The alphabet channels
[ABC, NBC, CBS] are a little better on their nightly news. The internet machine
gives the most biased, and unreliable information around. BBC/BBC America seem
reliable. It takes an educated voter to pick the best candidates. I am also looking
for accurate, reliable information on Covid…
