Trivia
India is about 1/3 the size of the United
States, yet it is the second most populous country in the world, with a
population of 1.324 billion. India is the seventh largest country in the
world, at 1.27 million square
miles. The
British Raj, or British rule, lasted from 1858 to 1947 (although they had a
strong presence in India since the 1700s). British influence is still seen in
Indian architecture, education system, transportation, and politics. Many of
India's worst famines are associated with British rule in India. |
My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A nice fall day after a chilly night. There will
be no blog tomorrow…I am doing another phlebotomy and won’t have time to
write one. The phlebotomy should go well, the hard part is driving one block with
the needle in my right arm. Remember
Jan 6th with the crazy shaman with horns stood in the Capitol
building? Well, he was sentenced to 41 months in prison for that stunt. I hope
he and others learn from this decision. I have
lived much of my life hearing about space debris. It is usually satellites that
have stopped working and float around until they fall apart and can cause
damage to the newer objects placed in space. The Russians changed that scenario
last week when they sent a missile into space with the mission to blow up an
old satellite. The 1500+ pieces of debris from that hit put the International
Space Station to take cover to avoid problems if the debris damaged the ISS.
Time for some new international agreements on what can and cannot be done in
space. Az Representative
Gosar is facing censure charges. Both sides are giving their reasons for
their vote. Too bad he didn’t simply apologize. I find it hard to believe
McCarthy’s view that this is simply ‘rules for thee, but not for me’
argument. |
