Today’s Quote
At times our own light goes out
and is rekindled by a spark from another
person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep
gratitude
of those who have lighted the flame within us.
Albert Schweitzer
Random Tidbits
The Conjuring is based on real-life paranormal
investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren and their experience with the Perrons, a
family who moved into a Rhode Island farmhouse and experienced ghostly and
terrifying occurrences in 1971. The Warrens also had a possessed Raggedy Ann
doll that was the inspiration for the spin-off film Annabelle.
A little humor
In a public restroom in a high rise building:
"TOILET OUT OF ORDER. PLEASE USE FLOOR BELOW."
True Things
Inexplicable
A 17-year-old was taken into custody, and to the hospital, after
he caused a disturbance at a Petro Deli north of Topeka, Kansas, on Oct. 17.
The teen, who was naked except for the ranch dressing smeared all over his
body, damaged merchandise in the store, then ran out and jumped in a running
car, which he crashed into a pillar, WIBW-TV reported. Investigators said he
was "under the influence of a substance." He was released to the
custody of his parents.

My Rambling Thoughts
I’m
spending the day calmly and patiently awaiting the election results. The one outcome
of this election is that our country is very divided. It is sad that our
choices did not allow for a charismatic leader with plans that the vast
majority of voters could believe in. A close election only helps in keeping our
country divided. Hoping everything stays peaceful as more and more results are announced.
I
saw this posted on FB last night:
If Biden wins, I’m leaving the country.
If Trump wins, I’m leaving the country.
This is not a political statement…I just want
to travel again.
I
feel the same. I booked my Christmas trip to Merida, Mexico to spend a week
with my brother and sister-in-law. Now to figure out how to get to and from
Phoenix. Currently the shuttle isn’t running due to Covid. I’ll work it out.
Locally,
Flag will have a new mayor, our current Mayor will be our state rep, our US Rep
was reelected, and Astronaut Mark Kelly (D) will be our new elected Senator.
And in a move to easy the pain of elections, after 3 tries, AZ has approved Recreational
Marijuana. HaHa. It also looks like AZ has turned Blue for the first time in
forever.
I
went to Walmart for my monthly essentials shopping last Friday. Months ago,
they moved all the cosmetics and shaving stuff into an enclosed area near the
cash registers with many cameras. They had a checkout spot, but no one was ever
there. Friday there was somebody, and as I entered to get some shaving stuff,
he informed me I had to purchase them at that register. I get that shoplifting
is an issue. Somehow, during Covid, I find this crazy. I asked if I could shop
and do the whole checkout at his register. He said no. He could only sell
things inside his little area. I had to pay there, get a bag I didn’t want and
a receipt, then get everything else and check out. Too many steps.
