Thoughts for the day
Flag is having a windy spring weekend.
The only good thing is that there is no sand to blow around. Wind and Spring
are always synonyms here at 7000’.
The arresting of a serving judge in
the courthouse parking lot is a first, and hopefully last, for me. Are they sending
a not to subtle message to the judiciary branch of our government?
I don’t want, nor have I ever wanted,
violent criminals to live in the US. I believe every person deserves due
process when being called a criminal. I was saddened when I saw that two
families were deported with no due process. To make it worse, 3 children under
7 years old were deported in this action. One of the children has a rare form
of cancer, was under treatment, and was deported with no medication or review
by a qualified physician. That is simply inhumane.
Trump is proposing to stop all funds
to Head Start, a very important program for children living in poverty. He also
plans to stop funding for Meals on Wheels, a blow to elderly Americans.
Ancient Civilizations Few Have Heard Of…
The Chachapoya: Peru ©Elemaki

Known as the “Cloud People,”
the Chachapoya civilization thrived in the Andes mountains. With intricate
burial sites and impressive fortresses, they left a unique mark on pre-Inca
Peru. Did you know their Kuelap fortress rivals Machu Picchu in scale and
mystery?
Random Thoughts…
Pixar’s UP was the
first-ever animated film or 3D film to open the Cannes Film Festival.
A group of Seabirds is called a Wreck.
Chicago (the musical) was based on a play based on the real cases of Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner.
Taught in High School but not true…
Antarctica is the
second-largest continent
This misconception may arise
from distorted map projections; Antarctica is the fifth-largest continent out
of seven. It’s still a whole continent of cold.
