In France, kids tape paper fish to their friends' backs. As a result, April 1 in France is known as "Poisson d'Avril," which translates to "April fish."

In one famous prank from 1957, the BBC broadcast a film in their Panorama current affairs series purporting to show Swiss farmers picking freshly-grown spaghetti, in what they called the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest.

The BBC were later flooded with requests to purchase a spaghetti plant, forcing them to declare the film a hoax on the news the next day.

My Rambling Thoughts

I sometimes wonder about doctors. I’ve been taking a water-pill for about 3 years. I asked why I was taking it, he didn’t know, and now I’m off it. Just told me to call if I have any water retention in my legs. Hmm.

Today I was out and about to pick up some essentials. Sams and Wally World. Turned out I got what I needed and didn’t have to spend time looking for what I wanted.  Even got a new Welcome sign for my front door. Nice.

Finally got an email for my passport/VISA information. I’ll be sending it off tomorrow with FedEx. Trans-Siberian, here we come…in June.

I once had a boss who would come up with totally insane ideas and expect me to carry them out. It was a new experience and took about two months to realize, that if I didn’t do anything, he would forget his crazy idea and move on. He did have a few good ideas that I quickly carried out. Here’s my idea, from experience: turn off 45’s Twitter account, let his crew listen to his ideas, if they are valid and an improvement to the current situation, let the crew announce them to the press and people. If the idea is just wacko, let his crew deal with it and don’t bother the rest of us.

I went to Uganda to see the gorillas. It was a great trip. I can’t help but feel there is more to the story of the kidnapped American woman there. I hope she is returned safely and the full story comes out.
