Real Cities
Woonsocket Rhode Island is a city in Providence County, Rhode Island.
The population was 41,186 at the 2010 census, making it the sixth largest city
in the state. Being Rhode Island’s northernmost city, Woonsocket lies directly
south of the Massachusetts state line.
Possible derivations of the name include
several Nipmuc geographic names from nearby Massachusetts. These include
Woonksechocksett, from Worcester County meaning "fox country", and
Wannashowatuckqut, also from Worcester County, meaning "at the fork of the
river"
True Things
-- Raffaela Spone, 50,
was arrested in early March in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, after prosecutors
say she created "deepfake" videos and photographs of at least three
girls on her daughter's cheerleading squad in an apparent attempt to embarrass
them and force them off the team. Prosecutors said Spone allegedly sent the
manipulated images to the girls -- shown drinking, smoking and naked --
anonymously and suggested they kill themselves, The Philadelphia Inquirer
reported. Parents of one of recipients contacted police, and detectives traced
the IP address where the messages originated to Spone's home. Investigators
believe Spone's daughter was unaware of what her mother was doing.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A nice warm day for a good walk
in the neighborhood, between loads of laundry and drying said laundry. Bagdad, AZ is a copper mining
community and census-designated place (CDP) in Yavapai County, Arizona,
United States, in the western part of the state. It is one of only two
remaining company towns in Arizona. The population was 1,876. Most of the
town had to be evacuated due to a wildfire yesterday. Gov. Ducey [R-AZ] vetoed 22
bills from his Republican legislature because they have not provided him with
a budget. He says he won’t sign any bills until he has a state budget. It
seems the recount fiasco took so much time in preparing they couldn’t find
time to pass a budget to run our state. Last evening an out-of-state
tow-truck driver in downtown Flagstaff ran a red light and killed one and
hospitalized six bicyclists. They were getting ready for the Bike Strike
for Zero Emissions, a rally held in Flagstaff today. A local restaurant
and sponsor is donating 100% of sales and tips today to the family of the victims.
