Today’s Quote
The aim of life is to live, and
to live means to be aware,
joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.
Henry Miller
Random Tidbits
Cats
have an extra organ that allows them to taste scents on the air, which is why
your cat stares at you with her mouth open from time to time.
Cats
use their whiskers to "feel" the world around them in an effort to
determine which small spaces they can fit into. A cat's whiskers are generally
about the same width as its body (this is why you should never cut their
whiskers).

My Rambling Thoughts
Andy
didn’t need a ride to PT today, so Mary and I had lunch at one of our favorites
(Smash Burger). It wasn’t crowded at all but they only had one person taking
orders instead of the normal two. We paid separately, so got two different
numbers. She had the classic with Brussels sprouts, I had the classic with
Haystack Onions w/Ranch. Her order came first, then a few minutes later mine
came. Her classic was a chicken sandwich, so we called the guy over. He
reordered her classic. Then he took an order to the other guy waiting. He sent
it back because he ordered chicken and got beef. Then mine came with no ranch.
I went up to get the ranch, and the purple haired order lady looked at me like
I was crazy. Then she got my ranch. I told her I wanted to see the manager. He
came and was obviously flustered. No apology, just 'I’m working on her burger'.
We decided to give them another chance, but if the service doesn’t improve,
they are off our lunch list.
We
are getting a nice rain this afternoon. Always appreciated.
I
was glad to see that several cruise lines are sending needed supplies and meals
to the worst hit shores of the Bahamas. And they are giving free evacuations to
Florida to those who want it. Not sure what will happen at customs, but I fear it
won’t be good.
The
outside trim painters were he today, touching up some spots on many units. I
asked the guy if they could fix my door showing that they painted it but didn’t
open the door to paint ALL the door. It looks great when the door is closed but
when opened there is about ¾ “part that is the old color. He checked and didn’t
have the paint, but said he would tell his supervisor. Hope they fix it.
Today’s Puzzle
Answer at the bottom of this page
A
girl has as many brothers as sisters, but each brother has only half as many
brothers as sisters. How many brothers and sisters are there in the family?
Use
the mouse to highlight the black area to see the hint.
This
trick question gives you a bunch of ways to get totally confused if you try to
figure out the answer. The key is to keep it simple. Be sure to count the
sisters and brothers in total and in terms of their own number of siblings.
Then the answer gets a little easier.
