My Rambling Thoughts

Our boat excursions of the ship were sure many of the highlights of our adventure. One early morning let us see many pink dolphins…Wow! Another took us deep into a tributary that was solid green plant life. Several times we had to stop, back up, clear the debris before moving on. We saw monkeys swinging around, sloths just hanging out on trees, birds, birds, and more birds in the marsh, flying just centimeters above the river and so much more. We only saw a tiny part of the Amazon river ecosystem, but were able to learn how important the river is and we learned how it clogs up with vegetation and then cleans itself. Awesome!  I was very pleased to see how all who were paid to show us around really wanted us to enjoy our trip and leave with a better understanding of this amazing part of the world…the plant life, the animal life, the bird life, and the human life taking place for centuries. And no one will forget the hundreds of lily pads in one of the tributaries.  

On the home front I needed a blood draw today. My good arm is covered with a brace, and the blood draw lady really earned her pay this morning to find a vein that didn’t roll. She worked very hard one the first stick to hold the vein and get the blood. The hospital had to call in the sonogram nurse to do it for the surgery, but this lady did it with minimal pain. Yeah! All good. Tomorrow I see the blood Dr. and see if I need another phlebotomy.
