My
Rambling Thoughts
A nice Sunday, but didn’t take a much needed walk, even the pain
pills don’t remove the pain. Doing better but still a ways to go.
I watched my Sunday morning news programs and caught up on some
DVRed programs. Did some cleaning, enjoyed my deck, and stayed lazy most of the
day.

It
was Louis Ixolite's bedtime and as usual he wanted a bedtime story.
He was a bright young man and had managed to communicate in Rebuses before he could speak.
Daddy asked Louis which story he would like to hear and Louis scribbled down the following Rebus in crayon.
Soybeans "blah blah blah"
Jack "blah blah blah"
Kidneybeans "blah blah blah"
What story did Louis want to hear?

Brief
History…
Cavemen
Were Stupid Brutes.
They may have been brutes, but hardly stupid. Neanderthal man had a brain larger than
modern humans. Back in those days, the
gene pool could not be watered down by substandard intellect persons surviving
and reproducing. In modern times, people
with physical and mental deficiencies are protected by society and often
produce more children than people of the highest intellect, creating a slow,
general decline in the average intelligence in the gene pool. Do not confuse more knowledge with greater
brainpower. Cavemen were plenty
smart. They survived under incredibly
harsh conditions.

FALLING ASLEEP TO MUSIC
If you want to fall
asleep with the stereo on, turn the volume down to a level that would be too
quiet when you are awake. In less than five minutes, that level will feel
comfortable, but if you're still awake in 15 minutes you may have to turn it
down again.

Twenty-three belfries in the north of France and the belfry of
Gembloux in Belgium were inscribed as a group, an extension to the 32 Belgian
belfries inscribed in 1999 as Belfries of Flanders and Wallonia. Built between
the 11th and 17th centuries, they showcase the Roman, Gothic, Renaissance and
Baroque styles of architecture. They are highly significant tokens of the
winning of civil liberties. While Italian, German and English towns mainly
opted to build town halls, in part of north-western Europe, greater emphasis
was placed on building belfries. Compared with the keep (symbol of the
seigneurs) and the bell-tower (symbol of the Church), the belfry, the third
tower in the urban landscape, symbolizes the power of the aldermen. Over the
centuries, they came to represent the influence and wealth of the towns.
Joke-of-the-day
An elderly man,
82, just returned from the doctors only to find he didn't have long to live. So
he summoned the three most important people in his life to tell them of his
fate:
1. His Doctor
2. His Priest
3. His Lawyer.
He said,
"Well, today I found out I don't have long to live. So, I have summoned
you three here, because you are the most important people in my life, and I
need to ask a favor. Today, I am going to give each of you an envelope with
$50,000 dollars inside. When I die, I would ask that all three of you throw the
money into my grave." After the man passed on, the three people happened
to run into each other. The doctor said, "I have to admit I kept $10,000
dollars of his money. He owed me from lots of medical bills. But, I threw the
other $40,000 in like he requested. "The Priest said, "I have to
admit also, I kept $25,000 dollars for the church. It’s all going to a good
cause. I did, however, throw the other $25,000 in the grave." Well the
Lawyer just couldn't believe what he was hearing! "I am surprised at you
two for taking advantage of him like that. I wrote a check for the full amount
and threw it all in!!!"

BOCA RATON, Fla. (UPI) - A Florida man may not have been looking
for a cheap date, but he was apparently hoping to make a few bucks by going on
one. Boca Raton police responded after a woman called and reported that a man
came up and snatched her purse while she was making out with a friend on the
beach. Neither of the kissers were identified, but the woman told officers that
the individual who had dropped her and her date off at the beach, Daniel Eisemann,
was the man who took her purse. She had never met Eisemann before he arrived
with her date to pick her up. After the 27-year-old snatched the purse, which
contained her cell phone and $500 cash, the woman's date took off after him,
the Sun Sentinel reported. When he didn't come back, the woman sought
assistance and called police. The woman's date, Eisemann and another man were
found at a nearby Red Roof Inn. The purse, minus the cash, was recovered.
Eisemann was charged with grand theft.

Useless Information
U.S.
President Harry S. Truman, discouraged by the Japanese response to the Potsdam
Conference's demand for unconditional surrender, made the decision to use the
atom bomb to end the war in order to prevent what he predicted would be a much
greater loss of life were the United States to invade the Japanese mainland.
***
Atomic
bombs get their explosive energy from the splitting of atoms in materials like
uranium or plutonium, which takes place automatically. On the other hand,
hydrogen bombs, which are also known as thermonuclear bombs, depend upon the
fusing together of atoms, as is taking place in our sun, to release much vaster
quantities of energy than atomic bombs. Since the fusing requires very high
temperatures, atomic bombs are generally used as triggers for hydrogen bombs.
Hence, every atomic bomb is a nuclear bomb, but every nuclear bomb is not an
atomic bomb.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at
least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and
sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is
therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian
calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
