Thoughts for the day

Another nice spring day with another large controlled burn. Luckily, smoke is not impacting my area.

I had a routine chest MRI this morning at 10:00. Filled out necessary forms, the MRI room freezing. The lady couldn’t find a vein so I needed an ultrasound. The guy usually sticks me a couple of times but she only did it once. The ultrasound was busy, so I waited in the room until 11:15. When I went out to ask how longer, they checked and it would be at least 15 more minutes and maybe 45. She said maybe you can reschedule for tomorrow. So, tomorrow at 11:00 the ultrasound and the MRI should both be available.

When I worked for the BIA, when there was a national conference or a regional conference there were no munchies, and we were told to be happy there was water and coffee. Today’s billionaire Secretary of Interior has his staff serve him his meals and they have to bake cookies (the ones from a tube) that must be served warm whenever he want them. He also uses a police helicopter for personal travel around DC so he doesn’t get stuck in traffic. Times sure have changed.

Trump and crew are planning a military parade for his 79th birthday on June 14 that will traverse DC streets. At a cost of $92million, it seems a bit much for a Presidential birthday.

With all the chaos on Wall Street, remember…buy low, sell high is working out great for the super wealthy. Not so much for the average investor or retirees.

Just south of Flagstaff on I-17 there has been a problem with drivers hitting elk at high speeds. It started in the early 1970’s when the Interstate opened and has continued ever since. Now in 2025 AZ Game and Fish is going to build a multimillion-dollar crossover bridge. I sure hope that cuts down on elk-vehicle collisions.
