Today’s Memes

Thoughts for the day

A very warm spring day.

I’ve been hearing about removing the penny from our currency forever. It now costs 4 cents to make one penny. The Dept. of Treasury has announced they have made their last order for blanks to make the penny. With no new coins being added for the public, the penny will be gone.

I am tired of Trump’s press conferences in the oval office with foreign dignitaries sitting there and allowed to participate if they say how great Trump is. As an American, I am embarrassed by the way several world leaders have been treated at these reality show conferences. First the President of Ukraine and now the President of South Africa. The public does not need to see this insanity. These leaders are invited and do not need to be ambushed with falsehoods. Trumps ancient video was a step too far.

Native American Tribal Proverbs

"Listen, or your tongue will tell you the time." © Tribal Trade

"Listen, or your tongue will tell you the time" highlights the importance of listening over speaking. It teaches the value of patience and wisdom gained through silence. By truly listening, we gain insights that enrich our understanding of the world.

This proverb urges us to be observant and thoughtful, reminding us that wisdom often comes from listening, not talking. It’s a guide to cultivating deeper connections with others and ourselves, fostering a mindful approach to communication and life.

Random Thoughts…

When I can’t spell a word, I just randomly type letters that I think would spell the word and just hope auto correct saves my.

A great many problems do not have accurate answers but do have approximate answers, from which sensible decisions can be made.

Stephanie Powers – Real Name: Stefania Federkiewicz

We’ve spent so long worrying about the rise of ‘Big Brother’ but in the end with memes and camera-wielding social crusaders, we’ve created it ourselves.

Caterpillar comes from an old French word for “Shaggy Cat”.

A seed is a small embryonic plant that is enclosed in a seed coat; a nut, on the other hand, is a hard-shelled fruit that contains a single seed.

Unknown Civilizations that once ruled the world…

Aksumite Empire © National Geographic Education - National Geographic Society

The Aksumite Empire, thriving from the 1st to 7th centuries CE, was centered in present-day Ethiopia and Eritrea. Known for towering stone stelae and early adoption of Christianity, Aksum was a major trading empire connecting Rome to India.

Its wealth was derived from controlling Red Sea trade routes, exporting precious commodities like ivory and gold. The empire minted its coins, showcasing its economic sophistication.

Despite eventual decline due to trade route shifts, Aksum's cultural and religious legacies endure. Its ancient ruins, including impressive obelisks, continue to be significant archaeological and historical sites.
