Birthdays Today: ♫
How many can you identify? Answers below in Birthday’s Today
My Rambling
Thoughts
Monday and another spring day. My bulbs are starting to break the
ground on my deck. Too bad they don’t know it’s February and I’m sure there
will be more snow before the real spring arrives. Hard to believe when I watch
what is happening on the East coast and Mid-west. Cheryl gave me an article
last fall about planting bulbs in layers so they will come up at different
times. I’ll see if that really works.
Headed out this morning and got my haircut. The same lady has cut
my hair for the past 6 or 7 haircuts and still doesn’t know me. When I go I am
always her first Monday customer, still she doesn’t remember. She does a decent
job, but is certainly not the sharpest scissors in the salon. Oh well, I’m just
another old guy who tips well. She does give me the senior discount without
asking.
A follow up to the Prescott girl who was maybe killed by ISIS. I
figured I had missed the story when she was captured, but now the family has
told ISIS that they kept their end of the bargain by not talking to the press
or releasing anything about her capture, now the family wants proof of life or
proof of death. So sad. Seems a little strange that some media outlet didn’t
release anything. Maybe some media knew and just followed the family wishes.

Brain
Teasers
(answers at the end of post)
Zona,
the nutty professor, gathered the class one day for an experiment. Zona began,
"I have in my hands a rock and a piece of wood. I am going to place them
in this beaker of mysterious liquid, and you may observe what happens."
Surprisingly, the rock floated and the wood sank! He turned to the class and
said, "My question is: What is this mysterious liquid in the beaker?"
Do you know the answer?

What happens when gravity takes hold? As soon as you click in the Google search bar, all heck
breaks loose!
Just as in a real catastrophe, it's important to keep focused. Go
ahead and type in your search term, and then hit enter. It's a pretty silly
gimmick, but it sure is fun to watch. For more wreckage, keep typing in search
terms and hitting enter.

Knoxville, Tennessee’s Body Farm isn’t a day spa; it is a forensic

Joke-of-the-day
A Roman walks into a bar
Holds up two fingers and says five beers please
Bonus
A 20-something year-old girl finally decided
to introduce her boyfriend to her parents. She hid him from them because she
was afraid of how they'd react because he's very religious, but now that
they're engaged she couldn't hide it anymore.
The boy shakes the father's hand firmly and sits down for a talk.
"So I understand that you want to marry my daughter. Do you have a job to
support her?"
"With God's help sir, someday soon, I'll find a job."
"Are you planning on having kids?"
"With God's help sir, someday, yes."
"I understand that you're a student. How are you going to pay your tuition
and afford a baby?"
"With God's help sir, I'm very certain both of these are possible
goals."
The conversation went pleasantly and politely. After the boy left, the mother
asked the father: "Well? What do you think of the young lad?"
To which the father replied: "He seems pretty nice, the only problem is
that he seems to believe that I'm God."
Yep, It
Really Happened
BOLIVIA,

Authorities in North Carolina said they have re-arrested a prison
inmate who escaped from the facility by putting on a coat and walking out the
front door. The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office said William Earl Hewett was
found hiding in a camper on his family's property Tuesday morning, five days
after his escape from the Brunswick County prison. Hewett escaped from the
prison Thursday by donning a coat and posing as his brother, Curtis Hewett, who
was due to be released that day, the sheriff's office said. Security camera
footage from the incident shows Hewett walk through a metal detector before
being pursued by a jailor. Footage taken outside the facility shows Hewett shed
the coat and outrun the jail worker to make his escape. Hewett was charged with
escaping from a county or municipal facility. He was also served outstanding warrants
on charges of burning property and property damage. Hewett was ordered held in
lieu of $3 million bond. The sheriff's office said five others, including
Hewett's mother, stepfather and girlfriend, were arrested on allegations of
helping to hide the suspect from authorities. Curtis Hewett is also facing
charges for helping his brother escape. Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram
blamed "human error" for Hewett's escape and said one person has been
fired as a result of the probe, which is ongoing.

How
many parents set Social Media accounts in their baby’s names?
According
to a new study conducted by Gerber.com, 40% of mothers between the ages of 18
and 34 created a social media account for their little ones before they were
born.
The
study didn’t have to do with accounts with pictures and posts about their
babies that are registered under the parents, it has to do with actual accounts
that are opened in the baby’s name.
Gerber’s
poll included 1,000 mothers with children under the age of 2.

Brain Teasers Answers
The mysterious liquid is water. The rock is pumice or volcanic
glass which floats in water and the wood was from the desert ironwood tree
which is so dense that it actually sinks in water.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet
sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned
that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there,
many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events
occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be
totally accurate.
