My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
The sunshine has returned. It has been greatly missed for about 4
days. Still too cold for much melting, but at least snow isn’t falling. We need
the moisture, and the last part of the storm was dry powder…great for skiing,
not a lot of help for the forest. The weather
guy says to expect more snow on Friday.
When I dug my vehicle out yesterday, there was a lot of ice under the
powder, making it harder to dig out, but good for the forest. One of my Navajo
neighbors dug out his vehicle and the snow pile between my vehicle and
his. Nice.
One of my friends called last night. His dad is in the hospital with COVID-19
and not doing well. So tired of these kind of phone calls. People in their
prime, falling to the virus. I am running out of words.
I keep seeing posts and now IM’s from conservatives I know about how
the election was stolen and the impeachment is illegal since he is out of
office. We disagree but remain friends…the way it should be.
The 28th is the 35th anniversary of the
Challenger Shuttle Explosion. I was at Tonalea School and we had just gotten a satellite
dish…the only way to get TV there. We brought the 8th graders into
the library and set up 3 TV’s to watch the launch. A day those students and
staff will never forget.
