Trivia

Some of the most expensive books ever sold at auction are...

First Folio: This book, a collection of William Shakespeare's plays, was published after his death in 1623. Seven hundred and fifty copies were published, but only 228 survived. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen purchased a copy for around $6.1 million in 2001.

The Canterbury Tales: There are only 12 known first edition copies left since its publishing in 1477, and only one is in a private collection. The book was originally purchased in 1776 and not sold again until 1998 with a purchase price of $7.5 million by Christie's of London.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

In my brain, I planned to get my flu shot today. I call my PCP and got voice mail. I tried several times until 10am. I gave up and headed out to pick up a script. When I got to Walgreens, I was going to get my flu shot. One lady in front of me took a very long time, but when I finally got up I picked up the script and added I needed a flu shot. He asked if I had an appointment. I said I’ve never needed on before. He said now you go online and set up an appointment. Before leaving the parking lot, I called my PCP, still just voice mail. When I got home, I went online to make the dumb appointment. After entering my DOB, I get the message ‘This site is currently down, please try again. I tried again about 15 minutes later and got the same message. I guess today is not the day for a flu shot.

Movies are an escape from reality. The shooting on the set of a movie is horrifying. It is getting worse every day. More and more information is coming out. The Union in charge of preparing the gun has been threating to strike over work conditions. The day of the shooting it now looks like it was a non-Union worker in charge of the gun. This tragedy should not have happened. It looks to me like with today’s technology; no real gun should ever be on the movie set. It can be added later through technology.
