Thoughts for the day

Flag is having a very unusual day of rain. It’s been raining on and off since last night. Trees were dripping and sparkling early this morning. Nice!

After 100 days: On Trump’s overall job rating—AZ: 47% approved; 49% disapproved. And in Colorado: 37% approved; 59% disapproved.

Trump posted a picture of himself as Pope. This is wrong at so many levels.

Trump has pulled back from abolishing Head Start after the public’s reaction.

Trump has declared two national holidays, but no one gets a day off from these: Nov 11 for the end of WWI and May 8 for the end of WWII. Veteran’s Day and VE-Day will still be observed. I guess he missed history class.

Native American Tribes That Dominated History

Sioux (Dakota, Nakota, Lakota)

Renowned for their formidable cavalry, the Sioux tribes—Dakota, Nakota, and Lakota—dominated the Northern Great Plains. Their skills in warfare and strategic alliances were legendary.

Notably, they led major conflicts like Red Cloud’s War, successfully challenging U.S. expansion. Sioux society was built on strong kinship ties and shared values, supporting their resilience. Their confederations were both a source of strength and unity.

The Sioux's strategic prowess and ability to mobilize large alliances made them formidable adversaries, continuously resisting encroachment and asserting their sovereignty over their lands.

Random Thoughts…

The best way to lie is, to tell the truth… carefully edited truth.

Belinda Carlisle – Real Name: Leslie Wunderman

There is a museum in Croatia named “Froggyland” which is entirely composed of over 500 stuffed Frogs in human positions.

EPCOT is an acronym for “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.”

When you eat at home as a family, everyone eats the same meal. But if you went out to a restaurant and everyone ordered the exact same thing, that’d be considered strange and even frowned upon.

Misunderstood History…

Salem Witch Trials Had Nothing to Do With “Burning Witches” ©wikimedia

Hollywood loves showing witches burning at the stake in Salem. But none of the 20 victims were burned—19 were hanged, one was crushed.
Burning was a European practice, not an American one. The trials were more about mass hysteria and land disputes than actual witchcraft.
The real story is far darker than the myths suggest.
