the role of a leader is to always display a winning attitude.

Random Tidbits
At the Himba of Namibia in
Southern Africa, the date of birth of a child is fixed, not at the time of its
arrival in the world, nor in its design, but much earlier: since the day the
child is thought in His Mother's mind.⠀
When a woman decides she's going
to have a child, she settle down and rests under a tree, and she listens until
she can hear the song of the child who wants to be born. And after she heard
this child's song, she comes back to the man who will be the father of the
child to teach him that song. And then, when they make love to physically
design the child, they sing the song of the child, to invite him.⠀⠀
When the mother is pregnant, she
teaches the singing of this child to the midwives and older women of the
village. So, when the child is born, old women and people around him sing his
song to welcome him.⠀
As the child grows, the other
villagers learn his song. So if the child falls, or gets hurt, he always finds
someone to pick him up and sing his song. Similarly, if the child does
something wonderful, or successfully passes through the rites of passage, the
people of the village sing his song to honor him.⠀⠀
In the tribe, there is another
opportunity where villagers sing for the child. If, at any time during his
life, the person commits an aberrant crime or social act, the individual is
called in the center of the village and the people of the community form a
circle around him. Then they sing his song.⠀
The tribe recognizes that the
correction of antisocial behavior does not pass through punishment, it is by
love and reminder of identity. When you recognize your own song, you don't want
or need to do anything that would harm the other.⠀
And the same way through their
lives. In Marriage, songs are sung together.⠀
And when, getting old, this kid is
lying in his bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his song, and they sing,
for the last time, his song.
A little humor
Never let it be said that ground crews lack a
sense of humor. Here are actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots
("P") and solutions recorded ("S") by maintenance
engineers:
P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed.
P: Noise coming from under instrument panel.
Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget
True Things
"Injun"
A very derogatory term
used against Natives. It is really a distortion of "Indian". This
word is to Natives as the "N" word is to African-Americans.

My Rambling Thoughts
Yesterday’s
phlebotomy was an experience. It usually takes 25 minutes and one glass vacuum bottle.
I had to be poked three times, she used 5 bottles because the vacuum wasn’t
working. She even tried the syringe method. It took almost 2 hours. I am
currently having a talk with my arm veins everyday to remind them the
importance of giving up blood, and that they need to be much more cooperative.
Hope it works.
On
Thursday night, thanks to Phoenix TV, the two town halls were not on at the
same time. First came Biden, then after that Trump. I watched both and listened
to what they had to offer. Interesting, and just helped solidify my vote.
I
guess this is the last time I’m voting on election day. Flagstaff has had a couple
of mail-only elections. I fill out my ballot and drive to the drop box on election
day and no sooner. Watching the numbers of early voters, waiting seems a waste
of time. Sorry to see that norm disappear. The US was one of the only major
countries giving same day voting results. Now we will join the majority of
democratic countries who wait several days for results. If Trump wins, we may
be using the ‘ink on the finger’ when we vote to prevent non-existent voter
fraud.

young King of Thailand. The next three are Saudi Arabia, Brunei, and UK.

Puzzle Answer
This riddle is a play on the proverb,
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." If you're literally holding a
bee, you are the bee-holder. Accordingly, beauty is in your eye.
