The fastest marathon runner in the world is Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya who ran the 2018 Berlin marathon in 2 hours, 1 minute and 39 seconds. He beat the previous record-holder, Kenyan Dennis Kimetto, who ran the marathon in 2 hours, 2 minutes, 57 seconds in Berlin in 2014.

The Badwater Ultramarathon claims to be the world's toughest footrace. Stretching 135 miles from Death Valley (the lowest point in North America) to Mount Whitney (the highest point in the lower 48 states), this grueling race is by invitation only.

My Rambling Thoughts

I was just being hopeful yesterday...Flag got no rain. Today is nice and I did my short walk. I always carry my phone...just in case. Today, while on my walk, it rang. I tried to answer but since I had on a mask, it wouldn't let me answer until I put in my code, since facial recognition doesn't work when wearing a mask.

I'm seeing lots of pics on social media of great places that have been rarely seen without a whole lot of air pollution. Since very few are driving, most factories are shut down, and life is at a virtual standstill around the world, air quality is improving. Sky that has been grey for decades is again blue. The most stunning I have seen are from India. So nice to see that Mother Nature can still win. Hopefully the nations of this world are seeing that strict air pollution standards must be upheld, for the survival of the planet.

The last time I drove was last Friday, when I got groceries and filled the gas tank on my ride. Vehicle hasn't moved since then and I haven't entered a store, gone to an ATM, or had any visitors to my house. I do see people on my walks, from at least a 6' distance. I have phone conversations every day, text people every day, and most days have a least one video call. I also get at least 3 robocalls, which I don't answer. Many leave a message that my extended car warranty has expired, or that by pressing 1 I can get a great Medicare supplement, or I have been randomly chosen to take a political survey. Such an exciting stay home and stay safe life I have.
