An Alaskan was on trial

were you on the night of October to April?”
It’s so hot in Arizona,
cows are giving evaporated milk and the trees are whistling for dogs.
The people who are afraid

immigrants are dangerous, windmills and electric cars are dangerous, and voting
by mail along with universal healthcare and face masks are destroying our

Police
in Phoenix are searching for whoever dumped hundreds of carp and gizzard shad
along a road on the north side of the city on April 4, KPHO-TV reported.
Arizona Game and Fish said the estimated 1,000 pounds of fish were dumped along
with trash left over from a spearfishing tournament at nearby Lake Pleasant.
"It's pretty gross," said motorist Karen Rowe. "I mean fish in
the middle of the desert, so it's quite shocking." Authorities said those
responsible could be charged with criminal littering. [AZFamily.com, 4/6/2021]

A nice warm day with lots
of high clouds, but no moisture expected.
Yesterday too longer than
I expected. I did need the phlebotomy, but the hospital was very busy…especially
the ultra sound team. I got there at 11:30 but told no one could do it until
2pm. I talked to the head guy at the welcome area, and they don’t do appointments…ever.
I left and came back a little before 2pm and was in by 2:15. It took two pokes
as the first vein quit giving blood. The nurse and her assistant had to listen
to my broken wrist travel story and the blood slowly dripped into the bag.
On Thursday I learned
about a new phone scam. About 3:30 I got a call from some lady asking why I had
called her. I said I didn’t and she said it was my caller ID that showed up. She
said the call was about an arrest warrant issued for her. We both agreed it was
a scam but didn’t know how my caller ID showed up. I called Verizon and no one
can talk to a human, so I had to chat. The chat said they would answer within
one minute. I waited 5 and with no answer headed to the Verizon store. It took
a couple of times for the manager to realize I needed answers…not about the
scam…but about my number showed up with my name. He had me call the Fraud Alert
line at Verizon. The lady said it was a scam, with a little twist. The lady who
called WAS the scammer. Her job was to upset me. And it worked. The fraud dept.
said to not answer calls with no name attached and if it is real, they can
leave a message and I could call back. By answering and interacting, my number
goes into their data base for more calls. Sure enough, I got a call on Friday
that left a partial message about an arrest warrant for me. The most
interesting part of the conversation with fraud was that Verizon provides me
with a phone and a network to use. They do not have anyway to know if I want a
call or not…other than a ‘scam alert’ on the call. It is really my problem if I
choose to answer it. Talk about double talk.
