Lazy day for sure. Stayed up way too late watching Netflix. Good movies though.

December Holiday Facts
*Christmas-Christian
¤ Christmas trees usually grow for about 15 years before they are sold.
¤ Many European countries believed that spirits, both good and evil, were active during the Twelve Days of Christmas. These spirits eventually evolved into Santa’s elves, especially under the influence of Clement C. Moore’s The Night Before Christmas(1779-1863) illustrated by Thomas Nast (1840-1902).

*Hanukkah-Jewish
Family celebration
As in many other celebrations of many other cultures, Hanukkah is about family. It's a joyous time of year when those you love gather together to share food, blessings, and music, as the traditions are passed on through the ages.

*Kwanza-African-American
Star Power
Celebrities who have been known to celebrate Kwanzaa every year include Oprah, Maya Angelou, Chuck D, Angelina Jolie, and Synthia Saint James (who designed the first Kwanzaa postage stamp.)

Five Gold Rings
The first Five Books of the Old Testament, known as the Torah or the Pentateuch: 1) Genesis, 2) Exodus, 3) Leviticus, 4) Numbers, and 5) Deuteronomy, which gives the history of humanity's sinful failure and God's response of grace in the creation of a people to be a light to the world.

Joke-of-the-day
Q. How does Bill Gates enter his house?

A. He uses "windows".

Yep, It Really Happened
MELBOURNE (UPI) - An Australian man said he is aiming for a Guinness World Record by having every character from The Simpsons tattooed on his back. Michael Baxter, 60, a grandfather and prison warden from Barwon, said at the Australian Tattoo and Body Art exhibition in Melbourne he is hoping to obtain a Guinness record with the Simpsons collage inked on his back by Bacchus Marsh tattoo artist Jade Baxter-Smith. The full back tattoo includes 203 characters spanning the 20-year history of the animated series. Baxter said the record he is seeking is for "most tattoos of the same cartoon character tattooed on the body," but Guinness officials told him his tattoo would be eligible because all of the characters are from the same show. Baxter, whose other tattoos include scheming baby Stewie from fellow Fox cartoon Family Guy, said Guinness has accepted his application for the record, but he still has paperwork to submit. The record bid pits Baxter against fellow "Simpsons" super-fan Lee Weir of New Zealand, who obtained the Guinness record earlier this year with 41 tattoos of cartoon family patriarch Homer Simpson. Simpson’s writer David Mirkin tweeted he was impressed with Baxter's tattoo. "Truly a lovely tribute. We will, of course, have to sue him and confiscate his back," Mirkin tweeted.

Somewhat Useless Information
¤ Drinking tea is undoubtedly a key habit in British culture. Because of that, British people have initiated a practical way of having tea available more often, even when they are in the army!
¤ British tanks contain a boiling vessel also known as a kettle  which can be used to brew tea, produce other hot beverages and heat boil-in-the-bag meals contained in ration packs.
¤ Those hot water boilers are general for armored vehicles of the British Armed Forces, and they are unique to the armed forces of the UK.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
