Thoughts for the day

After 8” of snow, the sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky. I’ll dig out my vehicle later this afternoon.

With all his executive orders, I really expected one about Daylight time. It didn’t come so most of America will change clocks tonight. AZ won’t, but the Navajo Nation will. Crazy.

Facebook reminded me that 12 years ago today Flagstaff had a similar storm.

It’s been a while since the news talked about Hantavirus. It’s sad that Hackman’s wife probably died from it. Also, it looks like Hackman didn’t even know due to dementia.

Forgotten American Heros…

Josephine Baker

Josephine Baker was a renowned entertainer and civil rights activist. Born in the United States, she achieved fame in France and used her platform to fight against racial discrimination.

During World War II, Baker worked with the French Resistance, using her celebrity status to gather intelligence. Her contributions to entertainment and social justice make her an enduring figure of courage and resilience.

Random Thoughts…

§  A group of Bears is called a Sloth or Sleuth. A group of Bear Cubs is called a Litter.

§  The two parts to the word “helicopter” are not “heli” and “copter”, but “helico” meaning spiral, and “pter” meaning one with wings, like a pterodactyl.

§  Pepperoni is America’s favorite topping, with 36 percent of all pizza orders!

§  A group of Mules is called a Pack or Span or Barren or Rake.

§  Fast food restaurants use yellow, red, and orange because those are the colors that stimulate hunger.

§  The best advice I ever got was to take everyone’s advice with a grain of salt
