Random Tidbits

The 1950's and early 1960's brought about several major events in the fight for the civil rights of African-Americans. In 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat on the bus to a white passenger. This sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott which lasted for over a year and brought Martin Luther King, Jr. to the forefront of the movement. King led a number of non-violent protests including the Birmingham Campaign and the March on Washington.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A nice winter snowy day. Only a couple of inches, but appreciated and being enjoyed.

The Biden administration continues to issue more executive orders and proposes legislation. I am disappointed that the right-media is mocking his orders. I’m still hoping that Biden-Harris makes America, America again.

Most of my Navajo Rez friends have gotten the first dose of Moderna. If you have a vehicle, and friends who will bring you food, will sit in your car while you use their vehicle so you can use the restroom, the 4+ hour wait is worth it. Oh, and over 65 or working in one of the school systems or at the hospital.

I talked to a friend who is recovering from COVID. He says he is good, but something was off. He didn’t really focus well. I hear that is one of the typical side effects after serious Covid. Haven’t discovered how long this will last. I sure hope it doesn’t last too long.
