Thoughts for the day
Another cloudy day. Yesterday just brought enough rain to dirty the
windshield on my car.
I went to Sam’s this morning to get gas and a few essentials.
Alcatraz Prison closed in 1963. Now Trump want to refurbish it and open
it again. How does this help the price of gas or eggs?
Trump is also looking for other nations, besides El Salvador, to send our
‘really bad criminals.’ At the same time he bemoans that other countries are
sending us their worst. Does he think no one remembers what he says?
Native American Tribes That Dominated History
Comanche© Comanche Nation
The Comanche, aptly dubbed the “Lords of the Plains,” were
unparalleled horsemen of the Southern Great Plains. Their mastery in mounted
warfare allowed them to exert control over vast territories, from Texas to
Oklahoma.
Many were feared and respected as fierce warriors. The
Comanche's skill in combat, combined with strategic trading practices, enabled
them to dominate regional power dynamics for centuries.
They were instrumental in the trade networks linking various
indigenous and European groups. Their adaptability to horse culture transformed
their society, making them one of history's most formidable tribes.
Random Thoughts…
A group of Dogs is called a Kennel. A group of Puppies is called a
Litter. A group of Dogs (feral) is called a Pack.
A zebra is white with black stripes.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did- in his sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.
The revolution will not be televised. It will be tweeted.
The Internet is mostly made of sand and photons.
Misunderstood History…
The Iron Maiden Wasn’t a Medieval Torture Device ©wikimedia
This spiked coffin is often shown as a common medieval
execution tool. But there’s no real evidence that it existed before the 1700s.
Historians believe it was likely a hoax or museum forgery. The myth helped
paint the Middle Ages as barbaric compared to later "enlightened"
times.
In reality, medieval torture methods were brutal but far more straightforward.
