Thoughts for the day

It’s a nice spring day with only a slight wind.

I took a nice walk through the neighborhood. Then tried to pick up some meds but the Pharmacy was closed.

We had a great discussion yesterday on India today. They are #1 in population. Their economy is not great and there are many human rights violations. Even so they want a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. That probably won’t happen. They will continue to be the leader of the South. They will continue their many entanglements with other countries as they try to walk a fine line of being non-committal. I’m sure we will have an update in a year or two.

Native American Tribal Proverbs

"When the last tree is cut, the last fish eaten, and the last stream poisoned, you will realize that one cannot eat money." © Running Strong for American Indian Youth

This vivid proverb warns against placing material wealth above nature. It serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of environmental neglect.

The saying urges us to value natural resources over money, highlighting the irreplaceable importance of a healthy planet. It calls for sustainability and respect for the Earth’s resources.

By prioritizing ecological health, we ensure a viable future. This proverb compels us to reflect on our priorities, advocating a balance where nature’s abundance is preserved for generations to come.

Random Thoughts…

“Long story short” makes your story three words longer.

The official state songs of Maryland and Iowa are sung to the tune of the traditional German Christmas song ‘O Tannenbaum.’

There should be confetti in tires so when there is a blowout it’s still kind of an OK day.

A group of crows is called a Murder or Horde or Parcel or Storytelling. A group of 3 is a crowd.

Unknown Civilizations that once ruled the world…

Caral-Supe Civilization © Tierras Vivas

Dating back over 5,000 years, the Caral-Supe Civilization is one of the oldest urban centers in the Americas, located in modern Peru. It demonstrates sophisticated social organization and impressive architectural feats.

This prehistoric society constructed pyramids, plazas, and residential complexes, showcasing advanced urban planning. Caral's economy was anchored in agriculture and trade, with evidence of long-distance exchanges.

The civilization's decline remains a mystery, but its legacy persists through its monumental ruins. Caral is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering valuable insights into early civilization development in the Americas.
