My
Rambling Thoughts
Another school year is starting at NAU. Our group met for lunch by
the University this afternoon…not the best idea. Traffic was horrific. Cheryl
said that Target was packed. Mary and I were glad we didn’t have to deal with
all that. There was a solid line of cars on the main road into NAU dorms….moving
about 3mph. This made getting out of the parking lot quite a feat for Mary.
Well, we know to stay away from that side of town until things settle down
again.
SecDef Hagel sez to ‘get ready for ISIS on American soil’. Reports
coming to him suggest that there are American citizens with American passports
that are working with ISIS. This makes it easy to re-enter the US on American
passports and without VISAs. What next?
Nice monsoon this afternoon, slow steady rain. Ground is
saturated. Flood advisory for most of our county.

Joke-of-the-day
A man was
checking into a hotel when he saw a golden retriever sitting on a rug near the
hotel elevator. Talking to the man behind the desk, he asked, "Does your
dog bite?" The attendant said, "No, he doesn't." But as the man
let his hand down to pat the dog, it bit his hand and held on so tightly that
the man had to throw him across the room.
Returning to the desk, the man said, "I thought you said that your dog didn't bite." He directed the attendant's attention to the dog, who now had returned to the rug. The attendant simply answered, "My friend that is NOT my dog."

Yeah, It
Really Happened
A Georgia man who is accused of impersonating a police officer in
order to get free continental breakfast from a Dunwoody hotel has been
arrested. Roche Harris was charged with impersonation of a police officer,
simple battery, theft by taking, and loitering and prowling. In December,
Harris went to the Staybridge Hotel and attempted to eat the continental
breakfast even though he was not a guest at the establishment. When he was
confronted by staff, Harris allegedly threw hot water in a manager's face. Last
month, Harris returned to the hotel and displayed a badge in an attempt to pass
himself off as a law enforcement officer in order to get free food. According
to Officer Tim Fecht, Harris returned to the hotel on Sunday and began taking
food again. Employees called 911 after recognizing the 36-year-old and Harris
was taken into custody.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at
least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and
sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is
therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian
calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
