Free Rambling Thoughts   

A great Memorial Day here in Flagstaff, warm, very little wind, no clouds, and a cook out. My deck was very nice this morning for reading the paper. Can’t ask for much more.

I wish our state would get a final map out for our election instead of spending time in courts. I am not sure what district I’m in for the national or state level offices. I’m getting all kinds of junk mail for candidates and some I’m sure are not even in my district anymore. I got a campaign flyer from our current US Rep who I am sure is no longer in my district. I think all these politicians with all their money are just covering all the bases until the lines are finalized. I also have to wonder why all this campaign money isn’t producing jobs and profits. Somebody has to make the robocalls, the flyers, the TV and radio commercials, rent the venues, etc. Campaign workers may be donating their time, but the campaign is run by business that certainly isn’t donating their services.  Where is all that campaign money going?

Yeah, It Really Happened

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Police in Florida said a man arrested for possessing a stolen shopping cart allegedly tried to take a clock from the police station wall. Panama City police said they were called to the Hathaway Bridge around 3 a.m. Tuesday and they arrived to find Dennis Baugham, 51, and Michael Marquez, 34, fighting near the bridge, WJHG-TV, Panama City, reported Thursday. Investigators said the men were found to be in possession of a shopping cart taken from a store a few miles from the scene and other suspected stolen items including a tent, camping stove and camping fuel. The men were taken to the Panama City Police Station, where officers said Marquez swiped a clock from the wall of an interview room and tried to hide it in his backpack. Baugham and Marquez were both charged with possession of the stolen shopping cart and Marquez was charged with an additional count of petty theft. The men were taken to the Bay County Jail.

• Kaibito, AZ: located on Navajo Nation in Coconino county, population is 1,522, total area of 16.0 square miles, means ‘willow in the water’ The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.19% Native American, 0.37% White, 0.06%Black or African American, and 0.37% from two or more races. 0.12% of the population is Hispanic or Latino of any race.

• Kayenta, AZ: (Tó Dinéeshzheeʼ) located on Navajo Nation in Navajo County, population is 5,189, located 25 miles (40 km) south of Monument Valley, total area of 13.2 square miles (34 km2), The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.27% Native American, 4.56%White, 0.25% Black or African American, 0.08% Asian, 0.02%Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 2.51% from two or more races. 1.97% of the population were Hispanic o rLatino of any race. 

• Keams Canyon, AZ (Hopi: Pongsikya or Pongsikvi; Navajo:Lókʼaaʼdeeshjin) in Navajo County on Hopi Reservation; population is 260,  The racial makeup of the CDP was 7.69% White, 0.38% Black or African American, 89.62% Native American, and 2.31% from two or more races. 1.92% of the population is Hispanic or Latino of any race.

• Kearny, AZ: a town in Pinal County, built by the Kennecott Mining Company in 1958, population of the town is 2,765, town was named after General Stephen Watts Kearny, who passed through the area on November 7, 1846 while leading 100 dragoons to California, the racial makeup of the town was 77.28% White, 0.27% Black or African American, 0.84% Native American, 0.09%Asian, 18.36% from other races, and 3.16% from two or more races. 38.42% of the population is Hispanic or Latino of any race.
