My Free Rambling Thoughts   

Not quite as warm today, but still in the 80’s. Nice day to be outside. Flag Day so flag outside my house was waving. Wildfire just outside Flag…1st responders got right on it…Thanks. 

Did some laundry today, but ran out of laundry soap so had to make a quick trip to get more. I’ll finish up tomorrow while I’m getting ready for our discussion group. Grillin’ some hamburgers tonight.

 

I’ve been enjoying the CNN coverage of the Iranian election. So good to see the people. Such a nation of contrasts. Hope I am able to see a lot more.

Joke-of-the-day

An Illinois man left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day.

When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick email. Unable to find the scrap of paper on which he had written her email address, he did his best to type it in from memory.

Unfortunately, he missed one letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher's wife, whose husband had passed away only the day before. When the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream and fell to the floor in a dead faint. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:

DEAREST WIFE: JUST GOT CHECKED IN. EVERYTHING PREPARED FOR YOUR ARRIVAL TOMORROW.

Yeah, It Really Happened

Authorities say a Wichita, Kansas woman stripped nude in a police car and kicked out of a window.

It happened Friday night when police responded to report that a 35-year-old was exposing herself to residents at an apartment complex.

A police spokesperson said the woman was partially clothed when officers arrived. She was arrested, handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a patrol car. She then somehow managed to take the rest of her clothes off, because at that point why not?

She then kicked out a side rear window.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of public nudity and criminal damage to property. Police said there is "no indication" whether the woman was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Other than all of the public nudity, of course.  

Somewhat Useless Information   

Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.

In a "primary rainbow", the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side.

In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colors reversed, red facing toward the other one, in both rainbows.

A rainbow does not actually exist at a particular location in the sky. Its apparent position depends on the observer's location and the position of the sun.

Most people think the only colors of a rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, but a rainbow is actually made up of an entire continuum of colors-even colors the eye can't see.

Sir Isaac Newton discovered the seven distinct colors of the visible spectrum.
