Thoughts for the day

The sun is peaking through the high clouds. Cooler than I like, but a decent day.

I saw my doctor about my intestinal mess. He said it sounds counter intuitive but use Benefiber. Great. He also had his 9-year-old Golden Lab/Standard Poodle mix. Such a friendly and beautiful dog.

I’m looking forward to our discussion group tomorrow. The topic is America at  A Global Crossroads. It sould be interesting for sure.

Forgotten American Heros…

Lewis Hayden

Lewis Hayden was a former enslaved person who became a prominent abolitionist and conductor on the Underground Railroad. His home in Boston served as a vital stop for many seeking freedom.

Hayden's courageous actions and his commitment to the abolitionist cause were instrumental in aiding countless individuals on their journey to liberty.

His work extended beyond helping escapees, as he actively campaigned for equal rights and justice. Hayden's legacy as a leader in the fight against slavery continues to inspire those who advocate for human rights and equality.

Common Misconceptions…

“Crossbows were considered to be weapons so dangerous (as any commoner could have easily killed a knight) so that their use was banned by the Church. In reality there is not a single ecclesiastical document that would single out crossbows as a 'banned' weapon.”
