The vast destruction of WWII left two superpowers standing: the United States and the Soviet Union, both with conflicting ideas of how to restore international order.

The resulting Cold War lasted 40 years, during which time the United States and the Soviet Union tried to control as many countries as possible, even if those countries were not very valuable economically or strategically.

Lufthansa (in  German): "Ground, what is our start clearance time?"

Ground (in  English): "If you want an answer you must speak in English."

Lufthansa (in  English): "I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany. Why must I speak English?"

Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent): "Because you lost the bloody war!"

My Rambling Thoughts

Technology is great…until it does not work. After 40 minutes on the phone with Microsoft Help, they upgraded the problem to someone who will call me tomorrow between 8a and 10a. Not a happy camper.

I watched the first of several memorial services for George Floyd yesterday. Rev. Al Sharpton gave a very moving eulogy: Get your knees off our necks. Sad that after all the turmoil in the 1960’s this is still an issue.

At last night’s protest here in Flagstaff, the Chief of Police knelt with the protesters. Thankfully all the local protests have been peaceful.

I did my weekly shopping this morning. Parking lots were filled. Many were wearing masks…but many were not. Sad. Got what I needed and got out as quickly as possible.

You are blindfolded and wearing gloves, on the table in front of you are 100 coins.  90 of the coins are showing heads and 10 of the coins are showing tails.  You are unable distinguish which is which by touch or any other method.

You must separate the coins into two groups with an equal amount of coins in each group showing tails.  How do you accomplish this?
