My Rambling Thoughts
Had a good lunch with Cheryl and Mary yesterday. Lasted longer than expected, but was a great time. Mary got bitten by a scorpion while at her Phx house. Not a pleasant story. Anti-venom shot is $10K and only given to children. All others just have to suffer through. All worked out. Cheryl got a new fridge, after fighting with her last one from the day she bought it some 4 years ago.
A few weeks ago a business in our town, shut down after Nazi symbols were painted inside the establishment. Now some jerk put up a ‘fake’ Facebook page about our current Mayor. It was taken down after a few days, but some damage was done. Our current Mayor is a liberal, youngish, Black woman working on her doctorate, whose family has been in our town for 3 generations. It is so upsetting to have this kind of stuff happening in our ‘little mountain town.’ It is fine to disagree with the political views of another, but it is not OK, nor is it ‘free speech’ to attack the individual, especially with lies. Our country needs some real ‘statesmen’ and ‘stateswomen’ to change our toxic political environment. Wouldn’t hurt to have more citizens speaking out either.
Happy Mexican Independence Day. Enjoy the day.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
