My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Beautiful
late fall day.
I
spent the morning reviewing the candidates and propositions that will be on my
ballot on Tuesday. I’m now ready to vote! I also did a load of laundry during
the review. Here is AZ, there are a whole slew of candidates that deny the 2020
Election for governor, Sec. of State, and other offices that oversee our
elections.
An
ABC reporter was covering Native American Heritage Month. The female reporter referred to Indigenous
people as ‘Indigenous creatures’. The mistake still hasn’t been corrected.
Shame on ABC news for not apologizing. The Native community on social media has
been posting memes to bring attention to this. Most are very humorous. I recall
talking to the head of BIA education years ago and he said he dreaded November,
because the BIA got thousands of calls with people asking where they could see
a real Indian, or where they could go to buy traditional costumes for their
family’s Thanksgiving dinner. It is sad that most of the American population
knows little of the current happenings of Indigenous People in this country.
CU
Buffs lost to Oregon in a very windy game.
I’m
seriously interested in why the Republican party has not made a big deal about
the fact that the guy who attacked Mr. Pelosi is an illegal. True, he just
overstayed his Visa without returning to Canada…but still, he is an illegal by
all definitions.

Instrumentals
"La Villa Strangiato" by Rush (1978)
Die-hard
Rush fans believe this is the progressive rock band's masterpiece —
instrumental or otherwise. Off the Hemispheres album, this is Rush's first
instrumental effort. It checks in at just over 9 1/2 minutes long and truly
highlights each member of the legendary three-piece band. The concept was
composed by guitarist Alex Lifeson.
Meaning/history

when one is victim of a betrayal, or you got screwed over/cheated by someone.
The expression was used in reference to slave trade.

down the Mississippi River to work on plantations in the South.
